The League of Women Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale is holding a free public information session Sept. 6 on the SAVE Act and the role of the Registrar of Voters in ensuring safe and secure elections.
Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters Executive Matt Moreles will address election security, while Dora Rose, deputy director of the League of Women Voters of California, will give video presentation on the SAVE Act. The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act is a federal legislative proposal that requires individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a passport or birth certificate, when registering to vote in federal elections.

Granting care
The Cupertino-based Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care (CACCC), recently received a $10,000 grant from Silicon Valley Community Foundation. The funds will support the health needs of Chinese American seniors and older adults residing in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
CACCC will provide core educational programs including advance care planning, hospice and palliative care, mindful self-care and suicide prevention. Additionally, CACCC will develop a culturally appropriate Mental Health curriculum and officially launch its Poetic Medicine for Grief workshop.
Upcoming virtual CACCC events, conducted in Mandarin, include: Mindful Self-Care, an eight-week course from Sept. 8-Oct. 27, 7-9 p.m.; Poetic Medicine for Grief, Sept. 10 and 24 and Oct. 8, 4:30-6 p.m.; Mental Health: Suicide Prevention Oct. 10, 4:30-6:30 p.m.; and Loss & Grief, a five-week course from Nov. 1-Dec. 23, 6-8 p.m.
