A pedestrian was hit and killed by an MTS trolley in Palm City on Thursday, authorities said.

The incident was reported at 4 a.m. near Outer Road and Interstate 5.

San Diego Police reported that a man was lying on the tracks, and the conductor of the MTS trolley was not able to stop in time. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Only one person was on board the trolley. The Blue Line had a slight disruption, but by 6:30 a.m., all trolleys were operational again.
