SAN JOSE — Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire at an apartment building Sunday morning, authorities said.
The blaze broke out at a two-story apartment complex on the 500 block of Toyon Avenue, according to a social media post from the San Jose Fire Department.
The incident was called in around 9 a.m., authorities said. The fire was brought under control around 10:13 a.m.
Smoke was coming from the second floor of the building, authorities added.
Up to 30 people were displaced by the fire, authorities said. Of the apartment’s 12 units, nine were occupied. The nine occupied residences are uninhabitable following the fire.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities asked for people to avoid the area while they responded. Traffic was impacted near the apartment complex.
