SAN JOSE — A 36-year-old San Jose man was arrested earlier this month in connection with two dozen burglaries in downtown and East San Jose, police said.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation last month into burglaries at five separate businesses in the 3000 block of McKee Road, 3100 block of Alum Rock Avenue and the 400 block of East Julian Street, as well as a place of worship in the 2900 block of McKee Road, San Jose police Officer Tanya Hernandez said in a news release Thursday.

Detectives identified the suspect and linked him to 24 burglaries between August 2024 and February, Hernandez said, adding that the investigation revealed he took various items, including cash, and caused more than $1,000 in damage to each establishment.

On Feb. 12, officers found the man in East San Jose, Hernandez said. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, as well as other crimes, and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose.
