A driver was fatally injured Friday in a collision on a rural roadway near Upper Otay Reservoir.
The motorist was heading west on Otay Lakes Road in an Acura sedan shortly after 11:30 a.m. when an oncoming Honda sedan veered over a set of solid yellow lines east of Wueste Road and struck the driver’s side of his car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Paramedics took the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, CHP public-affairs Officer Kimberly Gonzalez said. His identity was not immediately available.
The other motorist suffered minor injuries in the wreck, the Highway Patrol reported.
The cause of the accident was under investigation, though intoxication did not appear to be a factor, Gonzalez said.
