Egged on

While Campbell’s 46th annual Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt is set for Saturday, April 4, 9-10:45 a.m., the hunt actually takes place with only 15 minutes left in the event.

“The Egg Hunt kicks off at 10:30 a.m. sharp when the song ‘Who Let the Dogs Out’ is played over the loudspeakers,” say event organizers from HomeInSiliconValley.com and the Kiwanis Club of Campbell. Families should bring baskets or bags to hold the colored plastic eggs their kids collect. And while “tens of thousands of eggs” will be hidden on the soccer field at the Campbell Community Center, organizers warn, “They are all picked up within 90 seconds; those kids are fast!”

The egg hunt will be followed at noon by the Bunnies & Bonnets Parade in downtown Campbell. The annual Easter parade features marching bands, dancers, animals, community groups, local organizations and more. It steps off at the east end of downtown by the VTA light rail tracks and runs along Campbell Avenue to Third Street.

Sticking the vote

The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters’ Office invites students in the county to create “I Voted” stickers for submission to its design contest. The winning designs in three grade levels—K-8, high school and college and trade school—will be distributed to all voters in the Nov. 3 general election.

Entrants may submit their artwork entirely online, mail in their design or drop it off at the Registrar’s office. Full instructions, design rules and the official sticker template are available at sccvote.org/sticker, where participants can also upload their submissions through April 30.

Registrar staff will select finalists in each category, and the public can go online and vote for their favorite starting in late May.
