The marches across Bay Area communities marked the third “No Kings Day” protest — a national campaign in opposition to what participants deem the Trump administration’s “authoritative rule” and policies they say undermine democracy. The first nationwide day of action, in June, countered a military parade in Washington, D.C., for the Army’s 250th anniversary and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday. Protesters gathered again in October, drawing even bigger numbers in the Bay Area.
More than 3,000 individual events were scheduled Saturday on the No Kings website, with protests set in every state across the country. In the Bay Area, nearly 60 individual events were held.
