Authorities have identified the two victims of a San Jose shooting, although the motive and circumstances around last month’s double killing remain unclear.

Officers responded to gunfire at a commercial building on the 700 block of Santa Clara Street just after 10 p.m. on March 12. Inside, they found 56-year-old Eddie Delgado of Sunnyvale and 41-year-old Oscar Salgado of San Jose. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Delgado died of a gunshot wound to the head, while Salgado died of a gunshot wound to the back, an investigator for the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office said Thursday.

Their deaths marked San Jose’s fifth and sixth homicides of the year, a number that has since climbed to seven.

No arrests or significant leads had been announced as of Thursday evening. The San Jose Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
