Ticket sales for the LA28 Olympic games have begun – including for soccer matches at San Jose’s PayPal Park. Fans who pre-registered for Drop 1 of Olympics tickets have gotten early access to all events and a look at pricing.
PayPal Park, known as “San Jose Stadium” will host seven matches: women’s group-stage games on July 11, 14 and 17 and a quarterfinal on July 21. Seats are selling fast during the first ticket drop across all events. Here is the pricing for soccer games hosted in San Jose:
Category A: $359.69
Category B: $260.46
Category C: $179.84
Category D: $130.23
Category E: $93.02
Category F: $28 (Standing room only)
Field level tickets are at the top of the pricing chart moving down to the cheapest tickets behind the goal — some of which are standing room only. Each ticket price includes all fees. As of this week, only the pricier tickets for each of the San Jose dates were available.
During Drop 1 Olympics ticket buyers have complained that many popular events have limited or no availability and that only expensive seats remain. Organizers have promised to make more reasonably priced tickets available in future drops: The next one is slated for later in the year. LA28 originally stated they would price 1 million tickets for the games at $28.
