SAN JOSE – Thousands of Pacific Gas & Electric Co. customers in San Jose are without power this afternoon following an unplanned outage, according to the utility.
The outage was reported just after 3:30 p.m. and is centered at the interchange of Highway 101 and Interstate 280/680, PG&E spokesperson Paul Moreno told this news organization.
Moreno said roughly 10,000 customers are impacted.
“We do not yet know the cause and apologize to our customers for the temporary disruption in service,” Moreno said. “Crews are on site now to inspect for a potential cause and develop a repair and restoration plan.”
The utility now expects to restore power by 7:15 p.m.
