SAN JOSE — A 23-year-old Merced County man and a 21-year-old Gilroy man have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery more than two weeks ago in San Jose, police said.
The robbery was reported just after 11:30 p.m. on April 21 at a business in the 4200 block of Senter Road, San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih said in a news release.
The suspects entered the business, brandished guns at an employee and demanded money, Shih said. Fearing for his life, the employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
Shih said the suspects also took a second register and left the scene.
Detectives opened an investigation and identified the suspects, Shih said, adding that detectives learned the suspects were involved in a separate armed robbery in Morgan Hill. The Morgan Hill robbery happened about an hour before the San Jose robbery.
Shih said the suspects were found in Gilroy — the Merced County man on April 24 and the Gilroy man on Tuesday. They were arrested on suspicion of robbery and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose.
Warrants were also served at the homes of the suspects. Large amounts of cash, a handgun with an extended magazine and evidence related to the San Jose robbery were recovered, Shih said.
