Donors this month at any of Stanford Blood Center’s mobile drives or centers, including the South Bay Donor Center in Campbell, will receive two free tickets to a San Jose Earthquakes game. They’ll also be eligible to win four VIP tickets to one of two Global Games matches in June.
The Global Games matches are set for Saturday, June 13, or Monday, June 22.VIPs get premium sideline seating and amenities including chef-curated dining stations and a sommelier-guided beverage service that’s served pre-match, halftime and post-match. Donors should be in good health with no cold, flu, or COVID-19 symptoms, and must be at least 17 old, or 16 with a parent or guardian’s consent. Be sure to eat well and drink fluids prior to donation, and bring a photo ID to the appointment.

Viola virtuoso
Peninsula Symphony is closing its 77th season May 16 at Campbell’s Heritage Theatre with a program featuring the winner of the 2024 Klein International String Competition.
Violist Pearl de la Motte will perform Rebecca Clarke’s Sonata for Viola in a program that also features Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 and the overture from Wagner’s “The Flying Dutchman.”
A student at The Juilliard School, de la Motte earned first place in the 2021 American Viola Society National Competition and third place in the 2024 Stulberg International String Competition in addition to taking first place in the Klein competition. She is the second of 11 children in a musical family and began playing the violin at age 2, switching to viola when she was 10.
