Playground renovation
The playground area at Sinnott Park is temporarily closed for renovation. As part of the city’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The playground was identified as aging and lacking ADA compliance. The City Council awarded a construction contract to Star Construction, Inc., on April 7.
Construction is anticipated be completed by early 2027. The renovated, ADA-compliant playground was designed with community input.
Going electric
The City of Milpitas has partnered with Silicon Valley Clean Energy and the Bay Area Regional Energy Network to offer rebates and programs that help residents switch from gas to electric. Eligible households can receive up to $8,350 in rebates for upgrading to all-electric appliances.

Water-wise workshop
Valley Water is hosting a webinar on water conservation efforts on May 28 at 6 p.m. “Love It or Lose It: Rethinking Your Lawn” is for people who want to learn how to remove their lawn and create a watershed-wise landscape. The workshop will cover removing turf without the use of chemicals and replacing it with climate-appropriate plantings, or keeping it in place but maintaining it in an organic manner. It will also address managing weeds, pests and disease, and lawn care strategies to improve resilience.
