Jones, an undefeated middleweight contender with a record of 16-0 with 14 KOs, will fight in a 12-round IBF title eliminator bout against Gualtieri (25-1-1) on Friday at the SAP Center in San Jose. If Jones remains undefeated after Friday’s fight, he will earn a world title shot. He turned professional in 2021.

“I’m young and hungry to win,” Jones said during the event. “This is his last hope.”

The co-main event between Yamil Peralta, of Argentina, and Robin Safar, of Las Vegas, also promises a high-stakes matchup for the WBC Silver Cruiserweight title.

The boxing event is brought by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.
