SAN JOSE — Three people were shot downtown early Sunday morning, authorities said.
The shooting occurred in the area of S. 1st Street and E. Reed Street, according to a social media post from the San Jose Police Department.
Authorities were called to the scene at 2:19 a.m., authorities said.
The three victims, who each suffered at least one gunshot wound, were taken to local hospitals, authorities added.
Police were continuing to investigate the incident Sunday afternoon. Roads are closed going both directions on S. 1st Street between Pierce Avenue and Highway 280, as well as on E. Reed Street between S. 1st Street to S. 3rd Street.
Authorities asked that people avoid the area.
