THE GOAL WAS TO BRING MOMS, DAUGHTERS, GRANDMOTHERS, AND FRIENDS TOGETHER FOR A DAY, ALL CENTERED AROUND HEALTH AND FUN ACTIVITIES. IT WAS ALSO AN OPPORTUNITY FOR LEARNING. THEY OFFERED BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS, BREAST HEALTH INFORMATION, AND SUPPORT FOR WOMEN CONSIDERING IVF. KAISER PERMANENTE PUT ON THIS EVENT AND WE ASKED THEM WHY EVENTS LIKE THIS MATTER. Thousands of women gathered Sunday morning in Sacramento for a women’s fitness festival hosted by Kaiser Permanente that was focused on health, wellness and community. The event began with a 5K run, marked by the sound of a horn signaling the start of the race. Organizers described the day as “sisterhood-centered,” with activities designed to bring moms, daughters, grandmothers and friends together for fun and health-focused experiences. In addition to fitness activities, the festival offered opportunities for learning, including blood pressure checks, breast health information, and support for women considering IVF. “Women play an integral part in our community, focusing on our own health and wellness,” A Kaiser Permanente spokesperson said.
