SAN JOSE — Two East Bay residents have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting last month in San Jose, police said.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of Summerside Drive around 12:55 a.m. on May 2 for a report of a person shot, according to the San Jose Police Department. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the driveway of an apartment complex.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He was identified as Micheal Teghen Amuche, 21, of San Jose.
Detectives identified James Goodman, 39, and Devinae Mitchell, 26, both of Hercules, as suspects in the fatal shooting, police said. They were arrested on suspicion of murder on June 18 in Hercules and booked into Santa Clara County jail.
Police said the motive and circumstances surrounding the episode are under investigation.
Amuche’s death marked the city’s 9th homicide of the year.
