SAN JOSE — Police arrested a man after he allegedly rammed his pickup truck repeatedly into a food truck with multiple employees inside, authorities said.
Orlando Rivero, a 27-year-old man from San Jose, was arrested Oct. 30 on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism, according to a press release from the San Jose Police Department. He was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 18, officers responded to the 2900 block of Monterey Road for a reported assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
Police found that the suspect drove his vehicle multiple times into the parked food vendor’s vehicle, where three employees were inside, authorities said. The employees exited the vehicle without sustaining any injuries.
A video of the incident shows a white pickup truck reversing before driving through an empty seating area and hitting the green and red food truck.
The collisions caused an estimated $10,000 of damages, authorities added.
