SAN JOSE — A tech company scooped up two North San Jose office and research buildings in a deal that adds to its footprint in the area, documents filed on Aug. 28 with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office show.
ISE Laboratories paid a combined $29.5 million for a 52,400-square-foot building at 1140 Ringwood Court and a 28,000-square-foot building at 1150 Ringwood Court, according to commercial real estate firm CBRE.
In 2023, the semiconductor testing company paid $24 million for an office and research building less than a mile away at 2201 Qume Dr., an expansion beyond its operations in Fremont, where it employs about 200 people at 46800 Bayside Parkway.
The company, which is part of a Taiwan-based semiconductor firm known as Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, or ASE, conducts testing of semiconductor devices to determine if they are likely to fail. When it opened its first San Jose office in 2024, the company expected to employ hundreds.
“We are firmly committed to our investment in Silicon Valley,” Tien Wu, ASE’s chief executive officer, said in 2024.
