Campbell during wartime

David Blinn will explore Campbell during wartime at the next History Happy Hour, set for Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. at the Ainsley House, 300 Grant St.

When the United States entered World Wars I and II, Campbell residents found ways to support the war effort from home through fundraising drives, volunteer work and community service projects.

During both wars, local organizations, schools, churches and civic clubs raised money by selling war bonds and stamps. These fundraising campaigns helped provide supplies, equipment and support for American troops. Community events brought neighbors together to contribute what they could.

Tickets for Blinn’s talk are $25 at https://www.campbellmuseums.com/events-main.
