SAN JOSE — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested a person Tuesday morning in San Jose, according to a coalition that tracks ICE activity in Santa Clara County.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. at West Hedding Street and North San Pedro Drive, near the Santa Clara County Main Jail, the Rapid Response Network said in a social media post.

RRN members arrived at the scene around 11:50 a.m. and confirmed ICE agents were no longer in the area.

Additional details about the arrest were not immediately available.

On Monday, RRN said there have been no raids or surge in ICE enforcement in the South Bay.

Tuesday’s arrest follows two others in the East Bay. On Friday, ICE agents arrested one person in Emeryville and another in Oakland, according to the Alameda County Immigration Legal Education Partnership. They both suffered injuries that required hospitalization.

The organization accused agents of using “excessive force against the people they detained.”
