The Office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell and community partners hosted a storytelling workshop on immigration on Thursday, Nov. 20, in Hawthorne.

This workshop, called “The Journey of Us: Honoring the Diverse Immigration Stories that Shape Us,” focused on the diverse immigration stories that make up L.A. County and the nation, and also explored how people’s histories and futures connect across generations and cultures. It is part of Mitchell’s monthly Second District Racial Justice Learning Exchange.

The Del Aire Park Community Center was filled with community members ready to share their journeys and experiences. The evening was filled with moments of reflection, writing and sharing in community, organizers said.
