Toast science with a glass full of it at the fifth Science on Tap Beer Festival, returning to Loch Haven Park on from 1-4 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 24).
Orlando Science Center’s family-friendly fundraiser welcomes the community for an afternoon of local beers from more than 30 breweries from around Central Florida, all of them eager to show off their wares while supporting the Center’s mission to inspire learning.
Guests will sip and sample as they explore interactive demos, enjoy lawn games with friends and share plates from area food trucks, which will be dotted around the event.
What’s on tap besides beer?
Brews & Beans, where guests will learn to taste like a brewer or a roaster and come to understand how time, temperature and process create flavors, aromas and strengths.

In Oktoberfest Goes Binary, you can build your own snack necklace using binary code in a hands-on (and tasty!) activity. Using goodies like pretzels, gummies and other classic snacks, you’ll encode a secret word in binary, then wear your creation … and probably eat it while enjoying the rest of the activities. Sampling beers alongside, you’ll learn how each bite changes the flavors you taste.
Several food trucks will be stationed throughout the park during the festival. (Courtesy Roberto Gonzalez/Orlando Science Center)
Every ticket sold at Science on Tap helps fund learning experiences for the kids in the Orlando Science Center’s many programs.
