White Castle, the world’s first fast-food hamburger chain famous for its square and steamed beef burgers known as “sliders,” is once again transforming more than 300 participating restaurants into “Love Castles” on Feb. 14 in honor of Valentine’s Day.
White Castle hosted its first one-night-only sit-down Valentine’s Day dinner in 1991, and 35 years later, the event has grown into a cult classic among White Castle fans, affectionately known as “Cravers,” offering a warm, joyful alternative to crowded restaurants and overpriced menus.
The one-of-a-kind celebration transforms the iconic fast-food restaurant into a festive, sit-down dining destination complete with hostess seating, tableside service, and Valentine’s Day décor throughout the Castle, and Lovebirds seeking a more low-key celebration of their everlasting adoration for each other — or who were too late to the table to score a reservation at their favorite restaurant — will enjoy a decadent cuisine of Sliders, Shrimp Nibblers, Strawberry and Cream Waffles and other noteworthy menu items.

This year, the popular Shrimp Nibblers are making a return and are available in two tasty flavors, Sriracha or Classic. Strawberry and Cream Waffles with special heart sprinkles end the meal with a sweet note. Couples who visit White Castle during the Valentine’s Day weekend will also be able to choose from four Share A Meals for just $9.95 each.
Jamie Richardson, chief marketing officer at White Castle, described the fun alternative to a traditional dinner as a memory-filled experience for couples, families, and friends alike.
“Valentine’s Day at White Castle is about more than dinner out at a restaurant. It’s about creating moments people remember and talk about for years,” he said. “For 35 years, our team members have poured their hearts into making this night special, and that care and attention is what keeps guests coming back year after year.”
In Brooklyn, “Cravers” can make a reservation at OpenTable.com for a one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day experience to celebrate their love at participating White Castle locations at 1545 Myrtle Ave. in Bushwick and 900 Pennsylvania Ave. in East New York.

However, according to Richardson, reservations fill up quickly at many locations, and he encourages “Cravers” to reserve a spot as soon as possible.
“Many people don’t realize how popular Valentine’s Day at White Castle is until they experience it for themselves. And love doesn’t stop with Valentine’s Day – we have couples who will actually marry in White Castles later this year,” Richardson noted.
The family-owned, Ohio-based business will also celebrate its commitment to the community with a fundraiser for the Red Cross Disaster Relief through its Castle Shares initiative from January 31 through February 13. Guests can purchase a Red Cross for $1, $3, or $5 at all White Castle restaurants, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the Red Cross Disaster Relief.
