City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Public safety and emergency services — police, fire and Emergency Medical Services — will remain in operation, according to city officials.

There will be no garbage, recycling, or organics curbside collections on Thursday. 

Regular business hours will resume Monday, Dec. 1.

General services

3-1-1 (210-207-6000) will be operational only for urgent animal-related and traffic signal concerns from 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27. The Call Center will resume normal operating hours on Friday, Nov. 28, for regular calls.

Animal Care Officers will be on duty.

Code Enforcement Officers will be available for inspections and emergency coverage.

Downtown parking visitors will enjoy free parking on Thursday, Nov. 27, at all city-operated garages, lots, and on-street meters; on Friday, Nov. 28, free parking will apply only to on-street meters, while garages and lots resume normal operations.

City parks and trails will be open.

Animal Care Services Lobby and Adoption Center will be closed Thursday, but will open Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a “Black Furday” adoption event.

Municipal Court Magistration services and SAPD’s detention center will be open.

Waste collection and drop-off
