The coffee shop offshoot of North Texas bakery Las Casita Bakeshop has a new location in East Dallas.
La Casita Coffee will open by Dec. 10 inside the Continental Gin Building in Deep Ellum.
The 137-year-old building is also home to Culpepper, a Rockwall steakhouse, and Tatsu Dallas, a Michelin-starred omakase restaurant.
“It is a beautiful space,” said La Casita Coffee co-owner Maricsa Trejo. “It’s a perfect spot, so we thought why not.”

With the Deep Ellum shop opening, Trejo and her partner in both life and business, Alex Henderson, now have four coffee shop locations.
“Most of the times things just fall into our laps and we’re really lucky,” she said, “but this one we had to go for.”
Trejo said the owners of the historic building were on the hunt for a coffee shop to replace the one that was previously there. She and Henderson put in a bid for their concept and it was picked.

Because of the size of the space, the Deep Ellum La Casita shop will not serve brunch like the other East Dallas location inside Half Price Books. Along with drinks, it will have La Casita Bakeshop pastries, with specialty pastries brought in on the weekends.
La Casita Coffee will open by Dec. 10, 2025, at 3309 Elm St., Dallas. It will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. lacasita.coffee.
