This fall, the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan invites the community to refresh, recharge, and reconnect at its Free Fitness + Wellness Open House on Sunday, September 7, from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. The event is free and open to all, offering a full day of activities designed to inspire healthier living, explore new movement practices, and foster community connections.
The day begins with a “Mix and Mingle” coffee and tea social, where guests can enjoy healthy snacks and meet JCC staff, trainers, and wellness experts. From there, participants are encouraged to sample a dynamic schedule of fitness and wellness demonstrations. Options range from strength training circuit workouts and tap dance to mindful practices like tai chi, yoga for back health, and the Alexander Technique, ensuring there’s something for every interest and fitness level.
Cap off the day with a plant-powered cooking demo and mocktails, highlighting how nourishing, flavorful meals can fuel a balanced lifestyle. A nutritionist will also be available to answer questions and provide guidance for building sustainable, personalized wellness routines.
