A $3 billion global wellness company specializing in nutritional supplements has opened a new American headquarters in Manatee County. PM-International says its location, in an industrial area near south Bradenton, will also create about 100 jobs — with the potential for about 1,000 employees by the time it is done with its expansion plans.

The new 50,000-square-foot facility, at 4615 24th St. E., will serve as the American manufacturing, strategic and logistics headquarters for for PM-International, according to a spokesperson. The company’s international headquarters is in Schengen, Luxembourg. It also has two other continental headquarters, in Germany and Singapore.

PM-International sells directly to consumers and is the official supplier of numerous sports organizations and national teams, including the German Ice Hockey Federation, Austrian Ski Association, German Cycling Federation, Italian Basketball Association, Korean Wrestling Federation and ATP Tour for men’s tennis, according to the statement.

“Our headquarters concept is already successfully implemented in many of our markets worldwide, and in some, we are already the market leader,” PM-International CEO and founder Rolf Sorg said at the Nov. 7 Manatee County facility ribbon-cutting, according to the statement. “Our goal is clear and ambitious: Become a market leader in the Americas as well.”

PM-International, founded in 1993, develops and distributes scientifically formulated products for health, fitness and beauty under its brand, FitLine. In 2024, the company posted $3.2 billion in revenue.

At the new $22 million Manatee County location, PM-International says it will begin “in-house blending for the USA as part of the manufacturing process.” The American headquarters will feature production technology, an in-house testing and quality assurance facility called PM Labs as well as modern office space. More than 21,800 square feet will be dedicated to logistics, and the 48-foot building height provides the potential for scaling up to $500 million in retail sales a year in the first of four construction phases, the company says.

Catamount Constructors Inc. of Tampa handled the construction project, a spokesperson says.

PM-International has also purchased land around the site for future expansion, east of the facility to US 301, according to the spokesperson, who says at full buildout the projected cost of all phases will total around $50 million. The company says in the statement that it has the capacity to expand to 188,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehouse and office space in three future construction phases.

“As we strive to attract businesses and higher-wage, diverse employment, it’s great to see a 30-year-old, $3 billion-plus international company take root and plan for substantial growth in our community,” Manatee County Commissioner George Kruse says on Facebook.

The initial opening of the Manatee County headquarters will create about 100 manufacturing, operations and logistics jobs, while also engaging local suppliers, the company says. Once all phases of development have been completed, PM-International officials are projecting about 1,000 jobs.

The headquarters in Manatee County will lead planning for PM-International’s manufacturing, operations, production, strategic operations, fulfillment and distribution for North America as well as South America. It will also be a hub for distributors and function as a service and training center. The company’s next step will be to get certified as a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) facility, according to the statement, which says future plans include collaborating with elite U.S. athletes and leagues like the NFL and NBA.
