“It used humor and clarity to expose how pseudoscience often relies on fear, not facts,” says Dr. Knurick. “And showed that just because something is hard to pronounce doesn’t mean it is harmful. I think it resonated with people who are tired of fear-based wellness messaging and want science explained in a grounded, relatable way.” —M.H.

What’s your most controversial health take?

“In this era, so many. Seed oils aren’t harmful; evidence shows they’re beneficial when they replace saturated fat. Cane sugar isn’t healthier than high fructose corn syrup; they’re both refined sugars we should generally consume less of. Most supplements are a waste of money for people without specific deficiencies, yet they’re heavily promoted by the same people who criticize Big Pharma, despite being far less regulated.” —Dr. Knurick

Dr. Will Bulsiewicz

Expertise: Gut health

Gastroenterologist and two-time New York Times best-selling author Will Bulsiewicz, MD (@theguthealthmd), might credit his social media traction to a T-shirt that says, “Eat Plants. Take Epic Dumps.”

But he’s beloved because he translates complex gut science with a mix of clinical precision and genuine warmth—breaking down immunology, fiber fermentation, and short-chain fatty acids with just the right combination of dad jokes and medical rigor to make gut-health information more…digestible. Stool jokes aside, Dr. B—as his followers call him—is serious about his mission: to help people transform their digestive health, and in turn, their lives. His feed tackles everything from bloating to brain fog, and is full of tips for aging better and feeling lighter.

As the founder of 38tera (a daily gut multivitamin) Dr. B champions a “food as medicine” approach. Instead of guilt trips and extremes, he focuses on more plants, less restriction, and making gut-healthy choices sustainable, not stressful. That also happens to be the focus of his forthcoming book Plant Powered Plus, which publishes later this month. In a space crowded with quick fixes, Bulsiewicz stands out for championing slow, evidence-based progress and, perhaps most importantly, reminding you that good digestion is worth celebrating. If your feed could use more levity—in your day and in your gut—Dr. B is your guy. —C.S.

What are three habits everyone should live by?

“Eat plants, lift heavy, and catch the sunrise. Feed your gut, build your body, and set your rhythm – those three habits never go out of style.” —Dr. Bulsiewicz
