Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (28 July), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Coronation Street has revealed Dee-Dee Bailey’s final decision over baby Laila’s future – and it’s heartbreaking news for her brother James.
Tonight’s episode sees Dee-Dee shock her family by announcing that she’s changed her mind over who should raise the young girl.
James’s worst fears are realised as Dee-Dee explains that she wants her daughter back – and there’s little he can do to stop it.
The drama plays out as James and Dee-Dee prepare to meet with a facilitator to discuss the Special Guardianship Order they were planning to put in place for Laila.

When Dee-Dee arrives late for the meeting at No.3, she informs the facilitator that the agreement is off as she has decided to keep Laila for herself.
“I am so grateful for everything that you’ve done for Laila,” Dee-Dee tells James. “You know, all the love you’ve shown her.
“I’m really sorry, James. I know this is tough on you, but I’ve changed my mind. I want my daughter back…”
James tries his best to protest, pointing out that Laila’s late dad Joel Deering brought trauma to Dee-Dee’s life.

He questions whether Dee-Dee will ever be able to move on from the past if she’s taking care of Laila every day. Dismissing this, Dee-Dee reveals that her early doubts are now long gone and it’s time to move forward.
Dee-Dee’s big decision is supported by her father Ed, who had long suspected that she was regretting her decision to give Laila up.
Ed insists to James that the outcome is best for everyone in the long-run, but it’s clear that James is unconvinced…
Spoilers for Wednesday’s episode (30 July) have revealed that James soon makes plans to take on a new job and packs his bags to leave Weatherfield. Will he make an impulsive decision to take Laila with him? Or will he respect Dee-Dee’s choice by leaving alone?
