Healthtrax Fitness & Aquatics is coming to Washington Township, taking over the former Virtua Fitness Center on Hurffville-Cross Keys Road.
The move follows a similar Healthtrax opening in Moorestown about two years ago, where the company also took over a former Virtua fitness center. (Patch)
The Virtua Health & Wellness Center is located on Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, just past the Fries Mill Road intersection and adjacent to the newer Woodmont residential and commercial development.
The planned Washington Township gym is part of the larger 250,000-square-foot Virtua Health & Wellness Center, with the fitness center and aquatics facilities located toward the roadside portion of the complex.
I stopped by the property last week, and the facility appears to have an extensive aquatics area with multiple pools. Healthtrax confirms that aquatics will be a significant part of the Washington Township location (It’s in the name!), listing a lap pool, heated exercise pool and hot tub among the amenities.
The Washington Township location is now listed on the Healthtrax website with an opening timeframe of “Coming Soon This Fall.”
According to the Courier-Post, the former Virtua fitness center has been closed for nearly eight years, with its final day of operation on December 31, 2018.

Washington Township will become the company’s second South Jersey location.

The addition of Healthtrax will bring a significant portion of the former Virtua fitness space back into active use after sitting closed since the end of 2018.
Healthtrax has not yet announced a specific opening date for Washington Township beyond its planned fall opening.
