The kosher dining scene in the nation’s capital just got a serious upgrade. Oro Nami, a modern kosher sushi lounge and bar, is now open and already turning heads with its late-night hours and elevated menu. This sleek new destination is the only kosher restaurant in DC offering dinner service until 9:30 PM, with doors open until 10 PM—a first for the city’s kosher offerings.
Until now, Char Bar has been the only full-service kosher option in DC, closing nightly at 8 PM. Oro Nami fills a crucial gap for those seeking a high-quality kosher meal after standard business or event hours.
Why 10 PM Matters for Kosher Diners
Events, work schedules, and evening plans don’t always fit neatly into an early dinner. For kosher diners, choices have been limited—until now. Oro Nami’s extended hours offer new flexibility, especially for those looking for a proper sit-down dinner without having to rush.
The ability to order a full meal until 9:30 PM transforms weeknight dining, business meetings, and late social outings. This isn’t just about sushi—it’s about finally having a reliable, upscale kosher option when it’s actually needed.

Sushi Gets the Spotlight, But the Drinks Bring the Vibe
The food may headline, but the beverage program brings the energy. Oro Nami features craft cocktails, curated Japanese whiskies, and mocktails that actually hit, making it one of the few kosher establishments in the U.S. offering this level of bar experience.
This is DC’s first kosher luxe lounge, delivering high-end mixology and drink pairings in a space designed for adults looking for more than just dinner. Whether you’re ordering a Yamazaki Highball, sipping on a zero-proof spritz, or trying something totally original, Oro Nami is ready for your night out.
Behind the Bar: Quality, Depth, and Creativity
Cocktails and Signature Sips
Old Fashioned, Mojito, Blossom Martini (a best-seller made with Japanese vodka, liqueur, and vermouth), and house drinks like Not Your Zayde’s Kiddush
Yamazaki Highball is another top seller made with Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve, club soda, and lemon peel
Wines and Beers
Options like Psagot Cabernet, Bartenura Brachetto, and local craft beers including DC Brau and Guinness
Spirits Collection
Over 70 bottles covering Japanese whisky, Irish whiskey, Scotch, bourbon, rye, tequila (2+ labels), and more
The mocktail menu is equally refined, catering to non-drinkers and those seeking a thoughtful pairing with sushi.
Atmosphere and Access
Oro Nami seats 25–30 guests comfortably, with 10 bar seats and three lounge-style areas accommodating small groups of 4 to 8. It’s located in a highly accessible area near the West End, Foggy Bottom, and Georgetown, about a 5-minute walk from the Foggy Bottom Metro station and just two blocks from GW University.

The team behind Oro Nami includes Rabbi Hershel Boehm, owner of Baltimore’s Seven Mile Market—America’s largest kosher supermarket—alongside partners Harrison Furman, Dino Lonzano, and Harold Willner.
The restaurant is certified kosher and pareve under the Vaad HaRabanim of Greater Washington.
