Dr. Mike Wahl, host of the Wahl Show on Your VOCM Mornings, says his studies have revealed significant connections between health and exercise, and he has noticed great success in those who take a slow and steady approach to workouts.
He says people who go too fast can risk injury, and most wind up quitting after a short period of time.
“As long as we’re working at a relative intensity that’s moderate, then we’re going to get health benefits,” he told VOCM.
“So don’t ever compare yourself to anybody else. Remember, we’re trillions of cells put together in this unique being, and we all have these different challenges. So it’s all about you working at your relative intensity that’s moderate or a little bit hard, and then progressing over time.”
