Nate’s Kosher Deli plans to be open for business on Monday, Feb. 2 at 7923 Forsyth Blvd. in the Clayton business district. This marks a reopening of the deli, which first set up shop in August 2024 in the former Kohn’s deli building.
Initially, Nate’s will offer carryout service and catering only. Sandwiches will include pastrami, corned beef, turkey, roast beef and Reuben. Salads, wraps and a crispy chicken sandwich will also be added soon. Seating for dining is coming in the near future. Kosher butcher service is also planned for brisket, steaks and other cuts of meat.
Owner Avi Rosenberg has already been offering kosher catering service out of the location. Equipment has now been added and new staffers have been trained to enable adding a deli component. Rosenberg said he was excited to offer retail walk-in service.
“I’m very eager to reopen,” Rosenberg said. “Many people have been asking me for a place to get food and pick up a pastrami sandwich.”
Rosenberg has been working with the Vaad Hoeir of St. Louis to secure kosher certification for the new Nate’s location. Baked goods will be supplied by Bagels and Bliss in University City, which is also kosher certified.
Nate’s Kosher Deli will be open 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday. Online and call-in ordering will be available. The deli’s website and Instagram account will be updated with the menu and pricing prior to the first day of service.
