After serving the local community for more than 44 years, the Four Seasons Fitness Health Club in Glassboro says it is facing a critical financial situation and could be forced to close its doors within days unless immediate action is taken.

In a message shared yesterday on Facebook, the longtime fitness center announced that it is struggling to remain operational and has launched a GoFundMe drive to help secure its future. As of time of this article publication, the fundraiser has raised more than $9,400 toward its $22,000 goal.

For more than 44 years, Four Seasons Fitness has been much more than a gym. It’s our community, our home, our family, and we are committed to fighting for it. Today, we are struggling with the most difficult challenge in our history and are faced with the reality that our doors will close if we can’t overcome it. This situation is extremely urgent and we only have a matter of days before we need to close our doors unless action is taken immediately. This is the reason for our most humble GoFundMe request.

For the latest GoFundMe effort, while there is a summary announcement shared on social media, the GoFundMe page itself provides additional details regarding the club’s financial challenges. According to management, much of the current strain is tied to the September 2024 expansion project that added indoor pickleball courts to the facility.

The fundraising campaign explains that while member response to the new pickleball courts has been encouraging, the expansion has not yet generated enough revenue to offset its costs. As a result, the investment has placed significant financial pressure on the business.

Those costs seem to have weighed down on revenue streams quickly as last summer (July 2025), just 10 months after the pickleball expansion opened, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported that the Four Seasons Fitness Health Club had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which enabled them to remain open as they worked to restructure their financing.

Club management says at their GoFundMe page it has worked hard to prevent those challenges from affecting members’ day-to-day experience.

“We’ve been working every possible angle behind the scenes to keep the gym open and operating,” the organization stated, adding that it has exhausted many of its available options.

The Four Seasons team is now turning to its members and the surrounding community for support, hoping to bridge the gap while the business works toward a financial turnaround.

According to the GoFundMe campaign, the funds raised would help the club:

Keep the facility open while implementing a recovery plan

Catch up on critical operating expenses and rent obligations

Maintain employment for its dedicated staff

Continue offering fitness, pickleball, and wellness programs

Preserve a community resource that has served local families for more than four decades

Despite the current challenges, the team remains optimistic about the future.

“We remain optimistic about the future,” the campaign states. “We simply need additional time and support to secure the long-term future of Four Seasons Health Club.”

For many residents, Four Seasons Health Club has been a longstanding part of the Glassboro community, making this fundraising effort an important moment for members and supporters who want to see the facility continue serving the area for years to come.
