Chrissy Metz is seeing positive changes in her life that go beyond the scale.

Metz announced earlier this year that she had begun using a GLP-1 drug, a medication for Type II diabetes that can also be prescribed for weight loss and she’s noticed improvements in her health overall.

One of the main ones was the stamina to appear in the Broadway show “& Juliet” for the past four months.

“Honestly, being able to run around a stage eight shows a week was really amazing,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

Metz said she noticed her inflammation was “really minimized,” which was a relief because, “I’m perimenopausal. I got knee issues. There’s things going on.”

Another benefit the 46-year-old described as “super, super helpful” is “The mental capacity to have other things to think about than obsessing about the food noise and all that.”

The Emmy-nominee admitted she had been “very skeptical” of using a GLP-1 until a friend offered her “very thorough” research, as she told E! News in August.

“I didn’t know that I could quiet food noise and I didn’t know there were other factors,” she told the outlet.

Metz acknowledged that people will have their opinions about using a GLP-1 but is happy to share her situation as one that “opens up conversation.”

“There are people who, not even with medication, but want to try things in their life, but are afraid of what people are going to say, and don’t do it, and perhaps don’t find the life that they want, or the joy that they want or deserve because we’re so transfixed on what people think about our choices,” she told E! News.

She added, “Again, I was the biggest skeptic. I was like, ‘No, no, no, no, no.’ So, I hope it enlightens people to an option that might be right for them.”
