Meeting your daily protein target is also a trending term in the fitness world this year.

Scientist Dr Jen Martin said while humans do need protein in their diet, the ‘crazy marketing’ of added protein leads people to think that it’s a healthier product.

“The problem is just this idea that anything that has protein in big letters must be good for us,” she said.
