Australians are being sold a diet of ultra-processed foods, but what is it really doing to our health?

In the new three-part documentary series The Great Food Con, Craig Reucassel investigates the industry behind some of the nation’s most popular foods. It premieres Tuesday 24 November at 8pm on ABC TV, with all episodes available to stream on ABC iview.

Through bold experiments, undercover investigations and expert analysis, The Great Food Con exposes the marketing, misinformation and industry influence shaping what Australians eat every day. Along the way, Craig follows Australian families as they navigate the confusing world of additives, ingredient labels and food advertising, asking a simple question: do we really know what’s in our food?

The series also takes a hard look at food regulation in Australia, questioning whether consumers are getting the information they need to make informed choices and who benefits when they don’t.

Provocative, entertaining and timely, The Great Food Con challenges Australians to rethink the food on their plate and the system putting it there.
