KUALA LUMPUR: Nattome, Malaysia’s gut health supplement brand, has achieved another significant milestone with the introduction of its latest range of health products, designed to support the digestive and immune systems naturally.
The new Nattome line-up features natural formulations backed by science, designed to work in harmony with the body’s microbiota to contribute to long-term digestive balance. Each product is carefully crafted using fermented soybean extracts and other nutrient-rich ingredients.
Whether used as part of a daily digestive routine or incorporated into a long-term wellness plan, Nattome’s latest innovations reflect its commitment to helping Malaysians prioritise gut health as a key aspect of overall well-being.
What started as Lai’s personal search for relief has grown into a movement for better gut health.
A personal journey
Nattome’s story is no longer just about relief — it’s about resilience, renewal and redefining what it means to live healthily in Malaysia and beyond.
Founded in Malaysia, Nattome is a natural food and nutrition brand dedicated to advancing digestive health and holistic wellness. Established with a deep belief that good health begins in the gut, Nattome combines the best of nature, science and tradition to create products that are sustainable for everyday use.
Nattome was born from the personal health struggle of its founder, Jon Lai, who suffered from chronic acid reflux.
“Nattome began with my own struggle with acid reflux,” Lai shared. “Along the way, I realised how common this condition is, even among young Malaysians. I asked myself if there could be a better solution that was natural and suitable for daily use. After much research and development, that question became the foundation of Nattome.”
“Today, Nattome represents more than just a supplement. It is our vision to make natural digestive health part of every Malaysian household, across all generations,” he added.
The company’s vision is to become a leading and respected health and wellness brand in Asia, empowering individuals to lead healthy, active and fulfilling lives through natural nutrition.
Digestive wellness
According to World Health Organization (WHO) reports in 2021, one in three people worldwide suffers from digestive disorders, with gut-related diseases ranking as the fourth leading cause of hospitalisation in Malaysia.
Recognising this rising concern, Nattome has positioned itself as a natural food and nutrition brand dedicated to improving digestive wellness and overall health.
At the heart of Nattome’s innovation is its fermented soybean formulation, developed through years of research and supported by clinical studies conducted by UCSI University.
Research findings
The company recently revealed findings from a new study led by Assoc Prof Dr Tan Chung Keat of UCSI University.
Conducted over 12 weeks this year with 110 participants, the study confirmed that Nattome provides measurable improvements in immunity and antioxidant status.
Key findings include:
> Immunity: Secretory Immunoglobulin A (sIgA) levels increased by 31.7%, while Myeloperoxidase (MPO) activities dropped by 39.7%, which indicates a change contributing to improved immunity.
> Antioxidant status: Participants’ Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC) improved by 45.6%, strengthening resilience against oxidative stress.
> Oxidative stress: Levels of Malondialdehyde (MDA), a marker of cellular damage, were reduced by 21.1%.
Tan explained that fermented soybean, the key ingredient in Nattome, plays a crucial role in promoting gut and immune health.
“Fermented soybean ingredients, such as those used in Nattome, have been shown to support gut and immune health by maintaining a balanced microbiota,” he said. “They are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, protein and probiotics that strengthen the body’s natural defences.”
Renewed purpose
On Sept 25, Nattome introduced its refreshed brand identity and packaging, together with new flavours that make gut care both enjoyable and supportive of overall wellness.
The launch event was attended by their newly appointed brand ambassadors, Muar MP and triathlon athlete Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and Hong Kong actress Michelle Yim, who is celebrated for her vitality and health-conscious lifestyle. Their endorsement reflects Nattome’s growing reputation as an inclusive brand that encourages Malaysians to embrace preventive health as part of daily living.
