Gavin and Stacey fans who are mourning the show after its perfect finale are in for a treat as its creators have announced a new project.

Stars and co-creators Ruth Jones and James Corden are reuniting for a special evening this October ahead of the release of their book, When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between.

A few days before the book hits shelves on 9 October, the duo will reunite for an evening in London.

Special event When Gavin Met Stacey An Evening with Ruth Jones and James Corden will see the two stars take over the London Palladium on 6 October for a chat “full of revelations and never-before-heard stories”.

Tickets to the show go on sale on 1 August. With every ticket purchase, customers will receive a copy of Jones and Corden’s book.

The special is expected to look back on the very beginning of Gavin and Stacey, recalling all the crucial steps in the making of the show — from Jones and Corden’s first pitch to the “emotionally overwhelming” final day of filming.

It’s a “one-of-a-kind event” and an unmissable opportunity for fans who haven’t missed an episode of the beloved BBC comedy.

Premiered in 2007, Gavin and Stacey aired three seasons as well as three Christmas specials, including last December’s record-breaking finale.

Picking up with a time jump after Ness’s (Jones) proposal to Smithy (Corden), the final episode took the scenic route before giving fans what they’d wanted all along.

After a few detours, the series culminated in a last-minute, lowkey wedding, sealing the deal on its “will they, won’t they” arc.

When Gavin Met Stacey An Evening with Ruth Jones and James Corden is at the London Palladium on 6 October. Tickets go on general sale Friday, 1 August at 10am via LiveNation.co.uk.

Gavin and Stacey series 1-3 and all three Christmas specials are available on BBC iPlayer.
