Home and Away favourites Tane Parata and Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton are finally meeting on screen in just a few days’ time in the UK, and Australian fans already know that the soap has rewarded their patience by giving them plenty of dramatic scenes together.

And it’s been a long time coming for actors Ethan Browne and Stephen Peacocke too.

The two stars spoke about their huge respect for each other in a chat with Australia’s TV Week publication, revealing that they actually met at the Logie Awards in 2022.

Browne said: “I’ve always been a massive fan of Steve, and we finally met at the Logies. We spoke for a good hour at the afterparty as I was trying to pick his brain.

“I’ve always looked up to him as an actor and I said something like, ‘I hope we get to work together one day.'”

“I do remember that conversation”, Peacocke added. “Ethan was kind of new to the show and wanted to know what my experience had been like.

“I’m always happy to talk to people about the best way to approach things, which is to knuckle down and get stuck in – I think that’s exactly what he’s done. He’s a top bloke.”

The first day on set together was actually Browne’s birthday, and he admits that he was “a bit anxious” to get it right. It worked out well, though, and the duo “built a great working relationship throughout the day”.

The pair agreed that the characters work really well together as they share a lot of similarities, with Peacocke stating that “a lot of what Tane values resonates in Brax”.

Home and Away drops new episodes on weekdays at 6am on 5’s streaming service with a 6.30pm screening on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.
