Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street’s Aadi (Adam Hussain) will wave goodbye to Weatherfield in episodes set to air on Friday, 22 August.
Following prompts from his dad Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) to embark on a new life in India, not to mention the breakdown of his relationship with Amy (Elle Mulvaney), Aadi decides to start afresh and leave the cobbles behind.
Of course, this will come as a huge blow to his twin sister, Asha (Tanisha Gorey). After informing Dev and Asha that the police had let him off with a warning for accidentally spiking Lauren (Cait Fitton), Aadi tells his father that he’ll go along with his plan and notes that he’s already spoken with his cousin, Vikram (Chris Bisson).
“This is terrible news for Asha – she’s known for bickering with Aadi, but she’s also never known a world where he’s not around when she needs him,” our Corrie source shares.
“Asha was unhappy when Dev wanted to force Aadi out, so it’s a surprise that her brother is now on board with the idea. Will Asha come to accept that it’s time for them to go their separate ways?”

While Aadi’s exit will come as something of a shock to Asha, fans have been preparing for it since April, when actor Adam Hussain confirmed his decision to leave Coronation Street.
Taking to Instagram, he noted: “Over the five years I’ve spent there, I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little.”

Meanwhile, his co-star Gorey has spoken exclusively with Digital Spy about Hussain’s exit.
“Oh, my second brother! Obviously, I’ve worked with Adam for five years now, and he’s amazing. I love the bones of him.
“But he’s fabulous and he’s going to fly. He’ll do so many amazing things. I hope he doesn’t forget me! But he’s amazing – he’ll do great. I’m just sad that I’m not only missing a brother, it’s my [on-screen] twin, there’s two of us. I hope he goes and does what he needs to do.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
