Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Tuesday’s episode (23 June), which is available to watch on streaming service Channel 4 but hasn’t yet aired on TV.
Hollyoaks airs a major development for Cleo McQueen and Dodger Savage tonight, amid their ongoing attraction to each other. A tense confrontation leads to a shocking kiss, but how will their other halves react?
Yesterday, Dodger and Theresa returned from their spontaneous holiday in the Bahamas, feeling refreshed and loved up. Though Dodger was horrified to hear his nephew Sebastian has leukaemia, Theresa was preoccupied by the idea that Dodger was going to propose soon.

Meanwhile, Cleo noticed the detective was getting a number of mysterious messages from a woman named Alison, and in today’s episode she sets out to do some investigating of her own.
As Dodger begins his new project of installing a toilet in the McQueen house, Cleo stumbles across a secret conversation between him and Alison. She overhears Dodger telling Alison that he “needs more time” as it’s going to “break her heart”.
Though it’s unclear what or who he’s referring to, Cleo’s suspicions are raised and she makes note of their agreed meeting place later that day, before confronting him.
At first Dodger plays dumb, but Cleo asks him outright if he’s seeing someone else. He denies cheating and she agrees to keep his secret from her cousin.

Meanwhile, their heated conversation is interrupted by Theresa who immediately notices the tension between them and accuses them of cheating together. Unconvinced by their denial, Theresa issues a warning to Cleo and the pair hurl insults at one another.
Later, Cleo follows Dodger to his secret meeting with Alison and when he sees her lurking he has no choice but to explain himself. He tells her that Alison is his “handler” for an undercover job that he’s considering taking on.
Cleo points out that Theresa will be devastated if he leaves, but he insists he needs to get out of the house. When she questions him, he reveals he feels “trapped” because of his feelings for her.
“I don’t wanna be your mate, Cleo. That’s the problem,” he admits, before the pair share a kiss. Is this the beginning of another messy affair?
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
