EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders’ George Knight will be faced with his worst nightmare when his brother Kojo Asare unknowingly takes drugs.
After Kojo flushed away Ravi Gulati’s drug stash, Harry Mitchell has been struggling to keep the angry dealer at bay. In order to pay off the hefty debt, Harry has been letting Ravi’s dodgy associate Okie use Kojo’s flat to run his drug operation.
Next week, Kojo is anxious when he accidentally walks in on a bunch of strangers in his home. Okie fears Kojo will expose his criminal activity and tries to calm him down by giving him a pill.
Believing Okie to be his friend, Kojo takes the drug but suffers a horrible reaction. He is later found in a terrible state in the Square by his brother George.

“He goes into an absolute panic. It’s George’s worst nightmare and he immediately assumes that Harry is to blame for this,” said Colin Salmon, who plays George.
“He knows that Kojo wouldn’t take drugs and so he assumes that he’s been spiked or been tricked into it. Kojo hates drugs and George knows that, so he immediately points the finger at Harry.”

The actor explained why his character is so suspicious of Harry, claiming he “knows when someone is lying to him.” He added: “What’s really sad is that he doesn’t realise that Harry is trying to protect Kojo.”
Later, George furiously accuses Harry of giving Kojo the drugs, resulting in a huge showdown between the Knights and the Mitchells. However, Kojo chooses to defend his best friend over his big brother.
“George is in a state of panic and desperately wants to protect Kojo. His gut is telling him that something is not right, and things aren’t adding up, but Kojo won’t let him get involved,” said Salmon.
“The problem is that Kojo is an adult, and George can’t just treat him like a child so it’s a very difficult situation and one there’s no easy way out of for any of them.”
EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
