EastEnders spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (11 August), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has revealed that a character who was meant to return to Walford won’t be coming back just yet.

Stacey Slater was overjoyed in today’s episode, as she prepared for her daughter Lily to finally come home with her own child Charli.

Lily has been staying with her dad Ryan since May, deciding to leave Albert Square to get some much-needed space from her grieving mum.

With Stacey having turned a corner in recent months, Lily had decided it was time to return. Stacey told Kathy that she was looking forward to having all her kids under one roof again later that day.

But she had a huge problem to deal with, after getting on the wrong side of troubled teen Joel and standing up to his misogynistic attitudes.

Joel found out that Stacey used to have a SecretCam account, so took revenge by leaking her intimate photos and videos online.

It didn’t take long for word to spread around the community, and Freddie and Jean soon broke the news to Stacey that her private past had become very public.

Stacey immediately knew that Joel was responsible so confronted him in the café. But he denied this, and his dad Ross jumped to his defence.

Back at home, Joel showed his dad his laptop to prove he hadn’t done anything. Vicki remained suspicious but Ross wanted to retain Joel’s trust – desperate for him not to end up like Harvey’s son Aaron.

Meanwhile, Stacey’s day got even worse when she got a phone call from Lily, who told her that she wasn’t coming home after all as all her friends were talking about the SecretCam videos.

Stacey was devastated that her daughter was too ashamed to return to Walford and that she couldn’t prove she had made progress.

She was determined to make Joel pay for what he has done, so she called the police to report the incident. Will Joel face consequences for his actions?

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
