Severance boss Ben Stiller has responded to a big announcement about season 3.

The Meet the Parents and Zoolander actor isn’t just the executive producer of the Apple TV+ series, but also its primary director.

He helmed six out of nine episodes of season 1, and five out of 10 episodes of season 2.

However, in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times it was confirmed that he won’t be directing any episodes of season 3, as he is helming a war movie that is set to film in the spring.

On social media, some fans aired their worries that Stiller will barely be involved with the show going forward, but he was quick to reassure people that he is still very much part of the Severance creative team.

“It’s been full time the last 8 months working on season 3 and I’m not going anywhere,” he replied to one post. “We have incredible directors and a team that creates the show.

“I love directing it and look forward to at some point again for sure. I feel like season 3 is going to be the best yet as we continue to evolve.”

Elsewhere in the LA Times interview, Stiller touched on turning 60 years old in November.

“I’m at the point in my life where I’m like, ‘The clock is ticking.’ Sixty sounds old. It’s hard to get around it,” he said.

“And of course, it’s that other thing of, like, you know what the next one is. ‘Oh, s**t.'”

Previously, Stiller said that we won’t have to wait another three years to get the next season, like we had between seasons 1 and 2.

Meanwhile, Stiller will soon be seen in the next Meet the Parents movie Focker-in-Law, which recently added a major popstar turned actor to its cast.

Severance seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Apple TV+.
