There is no one size fits all fitness tracker. Some people want a watch with a screen, others want the smallest wearable possible. The Whoop is the perfect versatile compromise. It’s light and slips on and off your wrist. Hell, you don’t even half to wear it as a watch. You can wear it on your ankle, your thigh, or even your bicep (as long as you get a band that fits).

There’s no screen, which means if you want to monitor your workout in real time you will need to do so on the app. Thankfully, it’s very consistent about automatically detecting and recording your workouts. So if you like to get all the data, but want a workout free of notifications, the Whoop is the wearable for you. And unlike a watch, you don’t have to charge it every other day. More like every other week.

We’ve spent months with the Whoop 5.0 and it’s a remarkable fitness tracker. Our only gripe is that some testers found it less comfortable to wear around the wrist than a watch, for example. That being said, we know many other Whoop users don’t have this problem, so your mileage will vary.
