Emmerdale spoilers follow.

There’s been a lot of chaos for Emmerdale’s Rhona Goskirk recently, as she tries to get her stepdaughter April Windsor back on track alongside her husband Marlon Dingle. But they don’t realise that she has fallen into the dark world of drugs…

April has become a full-time drug dealer for villain Ray in an attempt to pay off her and boyfriend Dylan’s increasing debt.

But things couldn’t be more different off-screen, and speaking exclusively to us, actor Zoe Henry, who plays Rhona, is full of praise for her fictional daughter Amelia Flanagan.

“Amelia is like a 47-year-old woman!” she laughs. “She always has been. She’s such an old head on young shoulders. She’s brilliant, so focused. She knows all her lines and yours!

“I’m so thrilled that Emmerdale and the bosses have given her the opportunity, because I think she’s really shining. I’m very proud of her. She’s amazing and she always has been.”

With Rhona’s family drama keeping her busy, we haven’t seen much of her work life recently – as one of the local vets in the village.

Zoe told us that she’d love to film some more of these fun scenes – and she also wants to get some more screentime with Rhona’s mum Mary.

“We constantly talk about some of the stuff we used to film at the vets,” she says. “We had such a laugh and I think it was such fun for the viewers I think, too.

“I would love some more of that – and some more with Mary, because Louise Jameson who plays her is an absolute dream! I think there’s a real interest in her finding love, too.”
