Jez Blake was finally caught out on Hollyoaks as his reign of terror looks set to end, though John Paul McQueen found himself in the firing line from his ex-fiancé – has the beloved character been killed off?

The villainous Jez has been causing mayhem in the village over the past few months, with Dilly Harcourt, Bobby Costello and Robbie Roscoe being just a few names on his lengthy kill list.

After daughter Sienna discovered his true nature, she was held hostage in the Love Boat alongside Ste Hay, with Clare Devine discovering the pair in captivity during last Wednesday’s (24 September) episode.

Instead of freeing the duo, the schemer used the knowledge in order to intimidate Jez, whom she suspects of having her money. John Paul also pieced together that his ex-partner was the one who killed Bobby, though Jez threatened him into silence.

Monday’s (29 September) instalment began as John Paul rushed to Liberty Savage to deliver his (correct) theory, though his intoxicated state meant that she wasn’t convinced by his words.

Clare, meanwhile, attempted to manoeuvre Jez by threatening to release the photos of the captured duo, and the serial killer relented as he shared that the money was at the allotment.

Despite Jez preparing a trap, Clare was far too canny in these games, and duly brought a gun to a knife fight. Jez swiftly handed her most of the money, with Clare demanding that he hand over Tori to compensate.

Jez’s day got worse as Liberty informed him about her conversation with John Paul. He headed to The Dog to find his former flame, with John Paul vowing to get himself sober amid his worsening memory issues.

Knowing that he had to silence John Paul, Jez clobbered him over the head and left him stumbling in the village, with several residents thinking he was merely drunk. Cleo and Dodger discovered him lying on the ground in a bad state.

As Cleo urged Dodger to call an ambulance, the cop twigged that Jez was the killer that he had been looking for all along over the past few months – will he be able to bring down the villain?

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
