True Liquid Creatine

Liquid creatine has brought plenty of promises over the years, with stability repeatedly being the issue holding it back. We’ve covered Applied Nutrition’s CreaFlow, KRE18’s microencapsulated Active TR, EHP Labs’ triple liposomal approach, and CreaBev in products from FITAID RX, Konsoom, and Supplement Needs. All have addressed creatine degrading into creatinine, although their approaches and supporting information have not been the same.

C-Tine and KA-EX keep their creatine separate until consumption, while Muscle Nation and NZ Muscle have also ventured into creatine drinks. We’ve followed more recent developments from MacroCap Labs and CoreFX too, so this isn’t unexplored territory. Australia’s True Protein is now making a particularly bold claim with its upcoming Liquid Creatine, calling it the world’s first stable canned version of the tried and true muscle-building ingredient.

True’s drink combines mineral-rich Australian spring water and 3g of creatine monohydrate, with no sugar, sweeteners, preservatives, or stabilizers. The brand credits TLC technology, described as a purely mechanical process that infuses creatine into water without encapsulation. Production takes place at its new Melbourne facility, and True promises a smooth, grit-free drink, although it hasn’t explained precisely how its process preserves creatine.

The brand says commissioned third-party tests found some competing liquids and gummies contained just 10% of their claimed creatine. That is not the case in the upcoming True Liquid Creatine, which again, promises to have completely stable creatine in a can at a respectable 3g in a 355ml drink. This is not something we’ve seen before, despite how many drinkable creatines are out there, and we look forward to learning more about the process.
